Aim Statement

As the IHI Open School says, an aim statement is the answer to the question "what am I trying to accomplish?"

IHI Open School, goes on further to say that a good aim statement should be specific and measurable. It should address these points:

  • How good?

  • By when?

  • For whom?

With out getting all boring and scientific, I should mention that I am going to be very vain in this blog (very).

That being said, what is my aim statement?

Well...

I will weigh 125 pounds by October 1st.

My Personal Model for Improvement

I learned about the model of improvement during a course on continuous quality improvement. After taking on online class offered by the IHI Open School, I learned about this model and thought, hey, why not give it a try.

I know its not about hospital safety, but I have some improvements I would like to make-- so this is my personal model for improvement.

Here is a video that got me interested in the topic:

I really think that if I stick to this model I can see change, even if it's for personal reasons...
